Nailed it. Kind of..

It's a fascinating frustration. Nails used to be simple, one colored, classic and easy. Now the females of today spend countless hours doing things I never thought possible on a single fingernail.

Have you ever looked through those photos of girls DIY nails and thought to yourself, who has time for that?!? Because I have. There really are some cute and even easy ideas for nail art, but seriously, and maybe it's just me, but I don't normally have that much time on my hands. Plus, when I try to do nail art, I just become angry because it NEVER fully dries. Anybody else like that?

I'd MUCH rather spend my time digging through the clearance rack of shoes at Nordstrom Rack. But alas..

In order to show my appreciation for the gals out there who have a way better nail artistry, and patience, than myself, I thought I would share some easier nail art I like and that's good for fall, but mainly, Football season.

No 3D flower petals poppin' out of your fingers here..

First is one that I still have yet to try (I have a problem spending money on green and/or brown nail polish.) But I like how easy it looks to do. {Found on Pinterest here}

This is one that I did attempt trying, and it turned out somewhat cute. (And since I didn't have brown nail polish, that explains the sparkly looking football finger ;) But I did this for my trip to the BCS National Championship game this past Jan. where my tigers played, and sadly came in second.

This is a polish color perfect for the rich and steamy side of autumn, that I found last year. I still want to buy it, and honestly, not sure if I even still can, (maybe I should check on stuff like that before blogging about it…?) but hoping to look for it soon! Name: Bat My Eyes - Brand: China Glaze

And last but not least, a cute and EASY one that I am for sure going to try this fall! {Found on Pinterest here}

Baked Bruschetta Chicken and Honey Gold Potatoes…. drooling!

Wifey things 101:
In the last few weeks of being married, I have been working on my cooking skills, as I am now a wife. And my husband needs to eat. Daily. I mean really what's with that?? (jk.) It's been fun to try new recipes, however, I haven't gotten too far out of the box yet, but I'll get there. I just need to continue to get comfortable with cooking, and trusting that I can do it.

A recipe I tried recently that the hubs and I really loved was a Pinterest find that you can find
here on the blog I used. I have always loved bruschetta, so when I found it as an inspiration for a full meal rather than just an appetizer, I was game for trying it. This was something I new could be yummy AND easy to make. And in further light, I wouldn't have to pull out my hair feeling like a dummy in the kitchen.

It was so good in fact, that I forgot to get photos prior to mauling it. But here are a few small peeks. (I sincerely apologize for these photos.. they are not good and I will be sharing better ones on future posts!) I served green beans and potatoes with it.

I found the potato recipe on the back of the Tasteful Selections: Honey Gold Potatoes bag that I bought at Wal Mart. It's super easy and adds a flavor you can't not love!
Hope you enjoy these two selections. I've added them to my own cookbook!

It's not just about pumpkins.

It's that time of year again.. when people are filling Facebook, Pinterest and every other part of their lives with PUMPKIN something! Don't get me wrong, I love fall just as much as the next girl in line at Starbucks, however, I won't be ordering the pumpkin latte. *gasp*

I just have never been a huge pumpkin fan, ok? Get over it. But I have always been a fan of the beauty of fall. The colors, the smells, the crisp air, which also means turning in your flip flops for BOOTS. And scarves. And big warm comfy sweaters! (the crisp air + warm clothing I'm currently missing, due to my move to the south… people here say it eventually gets cold enough… hmmmm) I do love me some hot cider, chili, and most importantly: FOOTBALL! {War Eagle!}

And now here is a verse that I think fits autumn like a coffee mug fits in my hand: cozy.

Psalm 111:3 "Splendid and majestic is His work, and His righteousness endures forever."

Now I know that's a simple and sweet verse. But I love it. Think about it, majestic is a strong and beautiful word, and how majestic are the colors of autumn? His creation is His artwork, and it's to reflect His image. It's stunning, grand, serene, royal and emotional. It really is, in my mind, powerful.

And with that, I leave you with sharing my own fall inspiration collage that I collected from Pinterest. Because, ya know, where else do you look for pictures of stuff?
Enjoy!

This is going to happen. Seriously.

h e l l o . I'm Taylor Smith (still so weird to say that!) I have been married almost two months, have lived in Alabama for the same amount of time, I love chocolate and I really love shoes. I also am very bad at finishing projects that I start.

This is going to change that.

I love being inspired by things I see or find. It's the only way you can get me to cook, try life hacks, and maybe even do some sort of craft. But I really do love finding pretty things and then wanting to do more with my life because of it.

So bascially this is going to be me, taking pretty things that I find and sharing them with you. Ok so they might not always be "pretty." The words or phrases YUM, yes please, perfectly paired, swooning, omg these shoes, get into my mouth, get it gurl, work it, that's hot and some other shenanigans might pop in here and there and probably everywhere.

I will share clothing.. mine, a catalog clipping, a store's mannequin outfit...

I will share recipes... Tried and tasted.

I will share photos of picture perfect weddings, flowers to make you faint, and amazing party ideas..

I might even share a child's photo every once in a while, just to remind you how awesome childhood was..

A good song on the radio? Yep.

Good book? Yeah, well... Actually I hardly read. Ok scratch that. I never read. But if I do!

Inspirations people, inspirations!

Anyway, as I sit here and write because I'm too scared to fill out job applications, here's to the kids out there who are inspired and confident enough to get into the game.

Go team go!
